How it works
Your gearbox has its own software
Automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes, including DSG, are controlled by their own control unit (TCU). Its software decides when to change gear, how quickly each shift happens and how the gearbox behaves in each driving mode.
Remapping the TCU refines that behaviour. Factory calibrations are often tuned for economy and comfort; a gearbox calibration can make the car feel more responsive without changing any hardware.

Pairing with an engine remap
A Stage 1 or Stage 2 engine remap raises torque. Some gearboxes have torque limits in their software that an engine remap can exceed, so we check whether yours needs a matching gearbox calibration.

Gearbox tuning FAQs
What is gearbox remapping?
It adjusts the software in your gearbox's control unit (TCU), which decides when and how gears change. A calibration can change shift points, shift speed and how the gearbox responds in each driving mode.
Do I need a gearbox remap as well as an engine remap?
Not always. Some gearboxes have torque limits in their software that an engine remap can exceed; others handle the extra torque without changes. We check your vehicle and advise before any work.
Is every automatic gearbox supported?
No. Support depends on the gearbox and its control unit software. Tell us your vehicle and we'll confirm what's possible.
Can my gearbox be returned to standard?
In most cases, yes. We retain the original calibration where supported so it can be restored later.
Will a gearbox remap affect my warranty?
A gearbox remap may affect manufacturer or third-party warranty coverage. We recommend checking your warranty terms before proceeding.
